Youth Mission Statement:
"Through Christ's friendship and love, we seek to achieve a
balance of social and spiritual needs, and to value church and
community." |
COMMITMENT TO SERVICE
At Emmanuel, the youth are a part of the community rather than an
extension of it. Emmanuel's youth are the leaders of several service
projects throughout the year and have established themselves as leaders
within the church community.
Projects:
- Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
food baskets for those in need.
- Chili feed for Support and Assistance
- United Way Make a Difference Day
- Middle School Annual Service Weekend
- Annual High School Mission Trip
COMMITMENT TO FELLOWSHIP
Beyond service projects and mission trips, the youth have a weekly
opportunity to share in each other's company in a safe and friendly
environment.
Meeting Times:
- High School Youth meets every Sunday evening from 5-7 pm.
- Middle School Youth meets every Wednesday from 7-8 pm.
- Our activities include off-site
activities and of course there are always opportunities 'pig out' and
play games.
- The youth can also count on a dozen
opportunities throughout the year to raise money for activities and have
fun. Our youth have put the fun back into fundraising.
COMMITMENT TO FAITH
Emmanuel's youth build on their commitment to faith weekly during the Sunday education hour where we meet to discuss the Gospel and how current events challenge our Christian beliefs.
Off-site activities in addition to the Mission Trips include two annual trips to Holden Village where the youth have an opportunity to share their faith with other High School aged youth from around the Puget Sound. The youth have the opportunity to serve the Tacoma community several times throughout the year as well by offering their services to help those that are in need.
